How I have survived not working for the last 5 years.

The quick answer would be God, for sure I should have run out of money by now, but by listening to God I have survived.

2 key things I would have to say that has helped me survive is that I own my home and car.

I used the proceeds of selling my house and almost everything I owned to buy a much cheaper house and a van in Saskatchewan.

But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come. Matthew 10:23

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: Hebrews 11:10

I am very thankful to God that my house and car are completely paid off. I actually own my dream house and car, not because they are fancy but because they are paid off.

My little tiny house, was one of the cheapest in Canada, I also got an old 2011 caravan.

Not having rent/mortgage or car payments have definitely been a blessing for me.

Is it perfect, no! My house is in a small town far from anyone I know. My vehicle also had some major issues that I finally sorted out after much prayer.

I know this is not for everyone but my advise would be to try to limit your monthly payments as much as possible. Smaller and cheaper is usually better. I know that pride can get in the way sometimes, people like to show off. Do you really own that or does the bank? If you have issues with pride, I recommend watching the Russian Angel.

Where they good investments? yes and no. My old van might be worth half what I paid, and as for the house, I worry that If I were ever to try to sell it, I could have issues, like it sitting on the market for a couple years. The house next to me has been for sale since I moved in over 2 years ago. There are a lot of houses for sale in this small town and they seem to sit for a while hence why I got mine so cheap.

But I did not buy them for investment as it was more for survival, to not end up homeless with a dog and 2 cats. So for that reason yes, they were a good investment for me. If you watch some of the videos at the end you will see some of the ridiculous numbers people are paying for housing and cars. I am very happy with my 0$ monthly payments.

The import thing is that my pets and I have food and shelter. All without the need of any social assistance like welfare or a food bank. Which is important to me because of this verse:

⁸ But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. 1 Timothy 5:8

Not that I have issues with people on social assistance unless they also profess to be strong in faith. Better to rely on God than the Government. (Not for the weak in faith but at least God cares about the well being of me and my pets)

I did end up getting a little bit of money when I quit my job which was used to live on for 2 years and to fix up the house that I had issues selling. I did a lot of the labor myself where I could, to try to save money, since I had no job at the time. I eventually ended up completely broke and starving just before the house sold.

It was a little bit of a roller coaster ride going from starvation with the real possibility of completely losing my home to selling it and moving a few provinces away and finally owning my home outright.

I definitely should have run out of money already, but thanks to my obedience to God and with his help is how I have survived. I believe that it is a little miracle from God because of my obedience. Like the widow woman who obeyed Elijah(Doing exactly what God lead me to do even when I did not want too or told not too. Like selling my old house, moving far away to Saskatchewan, and buying a really cheap house there and just trying to let God guide me with money and things. It has all helped me and my pets to survive)

So instead of a job I am still working on this website for the time being. I am also trying to make my life as cheap as possible to help with the more important things like groceries. I am still hoping to make a transition to being self employed, so the cheaper my life can be the easier I can make that happen.

Another reason I want to make as little as possible, is that I know as a Canadian, my taxes are used to persecute Christians as well as kill people. (Mandates, medical assisted suicide, mutilating children, etc)

I have faced a lot of hardships, but on the flip side, I also have been able to build this website that has helped people all around the world get a little closer to Jesus. Which is really the most important thing.

I have also been watching Zac Rios on Youtube, where some people make horrible financial decisions. It kinda makes me feel a bit better about mine. I thought I would share a few of his videos in the hopes that it will help people make better financial decisions.
